"Had a fantastic tour with Ema the other day. She is a wonderful guide, knowledgeable, and exceptionally friendly. We had an amazing day with her seeing the sites that we came to see. She was especially helpful with suggestions that helped us locate our ancestral house. We highly recommend her and her tour for anyone wishing to have a personal guided experience from someone who was born here and knows the history intimately. We've made a new friend!."
"We spent two amazing days in and around Vilnius, Lithuania with Ema. One day we hired her as a driver/interpreter to take us to the small village from where my grandparents came, and the next day she was our tour guide for "Jewish Vilnius" and the Ponar Forest. Ema was absolutely wonderful. We learned so much from her! She was such a joy to be with, that I wish we could hire her for other cities in Europe!"
"I just wanted to thank Ema for a wonderful and memorable tour that we took a couple of weeks ago and to let others know of our experience. Ema was very knowledgeable about the facts, figures, prepared with pictures and illustrations, and so on. And all of that, quite honestly, exceeded our expectations. But what really made this so unforgettable was Ema herself. She empathized with who we were, what we were interested in exploring, and gave us her complete attention to makingsure that we found what we were searching for - even if we couldn't articulate exactly what that was. I think we were tough customers, because we wanted to learn about the Jewish experience in Lithuania, not just look at some sights and take a couple of snapshots. She was able to identify with who we were, and what we were seeking. She made sure we felt safe asking her anything, and she was totally open and earnest in finding answers that gave us that sense of what it was like, both then and now, to be of Jewish ancestry from this area. I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Ema to you!"
"Touring Vilnius with Ema Segal was an important and satisfying piece of my six-week Jewish exploration of Eastern Europe. Ema is intelligent and warm, professionally adept and intellectually alive. She shared information without lecturing—a big plus—and was interested in what we had to say.
Ema met us promptly and was a good manager of time. She made it possible to have a full tour experience at a relaxed pace. Although I stopped again and again to take detailed photographs, Ema took it all in stride. She was wonderful person to get to know and share an interesting and meaningful day. Her fee was appropriate and she did not count minutes.
A benefit of touring with Ema was learning about her experiences growing up in Vilnius during the Soviet period. While Vilna was known historically because of its religious traditions as The Jerusalem of the North, in the interwar period about a third of the Jewish population participated in a strong secular Yiddish-speaking culture."

"The guided tour was a 10+. Ema conducted the tour professionally, combined with a very personal touch, relating to her grandparents and parents experiences with the drama of Lithuania and in particular the Jewish population in Vilnius. In addition, we had very interesting discussions about Lithuania today. So highly, highly recommended."

"Ema was unfortunately not available for the days I needed, but she was very helpful recommending a list of alternative guides. I think it is very commendable to be able to recommend ones "competition". Thank You Ema."
