A WALKING TOUR AROUND THE JEWISH QUARTER IN VILNIUS

This insider look by the local litvak is a walking tour around the Vilna's Jewish Quarter. We will follow the traces of Jewish culture in the old town where the Great synagogue was built in 1633 and Gaon of Vilnius used to live and study. You will hear a story about the manifesto and the fight of Jewish partisans. We shall also walk into the Choral synagogue, and explore a very old mazzes-making machine there. This tour will give you a good feeling what life was like in Vilnius before WWII and what role the Jewish population had in this city and beyond.
A WALKING TOUR IN VILNA'S JEWISH QUARTER + PONAR FOREST + JEWISH CEMETERY
Duration: 7Â - 7.5 hours

This is the longest of my tours. We shall start with the walking tour in Vilna's Jewish Quarter. After that I will drive you to the active Jewish cemetery where the remains of Gaon of Vilna and Ger Tzedek are. We will finish the day at the Ponar forest - the place of mass murders with its own unique story. I'll be driving you in a comfortable 5-seat VW Golf.

I have visited many of them, saw many wooden houses and the red brick houses which  are said to be Jewish houses, saw many abandoned synagogues. I'll be driving you in a comfortable 5-seat VW Golf.
